Criminal Justice Program
The Duane Dean Behavioral Health Center's Criminal Justice Program provides rehabilitative services to individuals eighteen (18) years of age and older, who have been mandated by the court system to be assessed and, if needed, enter treatment for alcohol and/or substance abuse.
The philosophy of the court system, supported by evidence based studies conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice, is that a significant number of non-violent criminal acts are carried out when an individual is under the influence of alcohol and/or other drugs and that it is less expensive to treat than to incarcerate an individual.
In addition to the core treatment modality are:
- Life skills for vocational success
- Skills to cope with recovery environment
- Preparation for employment
- Assistance in employment search
There are additional components to eliminate criminal behavior and for an individual to return to being a productive member of the community.
